My Journey to Scotland
My connection to Scotland began with a simple desire to understand my family history. On my first trip, standing in Glencoe as mist encircled the mountains, I felt something more than heritage—I felt a belonging.
Later, as I walked all 96 miles of the West Highland Way, I discovered a truth that could only be revealed by the raw and generous spirit of nature. The land doesn’t demand more than you can give—it invites you to discover strength, grace, and authenticity you didn’t know you carried.
That experience planted the vision for Stone & Sky Retreats: a place where others, too, could find renewal, truth, and connection in one of the most breathtaking landscapes in the world.

I’m Kathrine Parnell, LCSW, author of Keeping It Real and founder of Stone & Sky Retreats. My work has always centered on authenticity—helping people shed what no longer serves them and discover who they truly are.
With Stone & Sky, I bring together my passion for mental health, leadership, and Scotland’s landscapes to create retreats that blend professional guidance with cultural depth.
